Heart disease starts with injury to the arteries. To stop the injury, refer to the Collagen Integrity section on this site.

We now discuss the next most important aspect in Heart Disease. It is the process of inflammation which is body’s mechanism of responding to injury or infection and is thought to play an important role not only in Heart Disease, but in many other disease processes as well. C-reactive protein (CRP) is one of the acute phase proteins that can be a good marker for detecting this process.

The following may be of help in curbing the inflammatory process

  • Reduce eating refined sugars, carbohydrates, white floor and products based on them. More insulin secretion caused by these can trigger inflammation.
  • Eliminate bad fats, trans fats, hydrogenated oils and products based on them
  • Include Omega 3 products like salmon, flax
  • Include Vitamin E
  • Include Curcumin
  • Include Ginger
  • Include a variety of fruits and vegetables
